Dublin's Mansion House in Dawson street was in September the venue where the European Peering group held its annual conference. ESB Telecoms Ltd. was proud co-sponsor for the event as we provided the communications and brought the dedicated connectivity, together with our partner, Packet Exchange. Our aim was to make this Forum the most successful to date, and to showcase Ireland as a "Tech Savvy" hub perfect for hosting International events and doing business!
Both ESBT and Packet Exchange are Associate Members of INEX, Ireland's Internet Peering Point and local sponsors of the event. The European Peering group is an association of backbone operators and exchange centres, who mainly provide the cross border and cross ocean connectivity for internet. One of their main issues at the moment is to facilitate the change to IPv6 in the package addressing. They need to be ready to accommodate for that by 2010, otherwise messages might not reach their destination.
In cooperation with Telecom Services, ESBT extended the fibre network directly into Mansion House. The conference centre there had during the two day event, the fasted internet access in Ireland. By the international operators, it was seen as the proof that ESB Telecoms operates with state of the art technology. The conference was a great success and all participants loved the leisure time in Dublin.
