By June 2009, ESB telecoms were ready to make the switch to a new application; TS Extranet, a web based solution for controlling the site access. From January a pilot project was carefully monitored to tweak the application, and iron out some glitches. Many contractors are seeking daily permission to do work on those ESB Telecom sites, where we have places towers, poles and masts nationwide. And a good tracking system must be in place to support the process.
We do not want to cause disappointments in delaying access to the equipment of our clients on the sites, but safety regulations have to be followed. To control that process, the need for a solution was inevitable.

Last week Razia Mohamed, pictured above with Christian Wall Project Manager in Airspeed, went to visit AirSpeed to promote the application and give some tips and hints during a short training. Although AirSpeed comes almost at the top of the alphabet, they were not the first to start using the TS Extranet, but are very pleased with the clear and simple solution. All this will assist ESB Telecoms in their effort to obtain the very important OHSAS 18001 certification, later this year. That is another project of the Health & Safety group in ESB Telecoms. OHSAS is short for Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series, but stands actually for a Health and Safety Management System.
